Frank Palangi is back with Purple Haze 2025, a revamped and newly recorded version of the classic rock song, this time featuring UK prodigy Henry Chaunan, who was just 13 years old at the time of recording. This version returns to the original E standard tuning from the previous D standard version that Frank recorded years ago. The raw, rock-driven approach, no auto-tune, no click track, gives the track a gritty, old-school vibe that hits hard while paying homage to classic rock roots.
Frank Palangi, an independent rock musician from upstate New York, has built his career on proving that "Rock Isn't Dead". Known for his gritty voice and high-energy performances, he’s made his mark on the SMR secondary market rock charts and has opened for major national acts over the years. A versatile artist, Frank handles recording, mixing, producing, and even DJing, all while teaching guitar and navigating the music world with relentless determination.
His influences trace back to the last four decades of rock, drawing from 80s icons like Metallica, Ozzy, Def Leppard, and Megadeth; 90s legends like Creed, Godsmack, 3 Doors Down, and Drowning Pool; and 2000s giants like Daughtry, Three Days Grace, Shinedown, and Hinder. Success hasn’t come easy, but Frank’s resilience and drive have kept him moving forward.
"I have no plan B in backing down on my dreams."
Frank has released several singles and EPs over the years, with tracks like "DYNAMITE" reaching the SMR Secondary Rock Charts in 2023 and "Break These Chains" becoming a fan favorite. He’s racked up accolades including local Best In the Region NY awards, a semifinalist spot in the Unsigned Only competition, a top 10 finish in the Grammy NOW artist contest, and a nomination for the LA Music Award. He was also named Radio Artist of the Year by Radio Wigwam. His YouTube channel has over 2.5 million views, backed by solid support from Upstate NY press and major music publications.
Frank also holds endorsement deals with SE Electronics, Radial Engineering, CAD Audio, Spector Guitars, Dirtbag Clothing, WB Gear (InTune Guitar Picks Inc., Best-Tronics Pro Audio, SITStrings, BigBlends, Prestige Guitars, GuitarGifts4U, Mental Case, Revv Amps, Rock Stock Pedals), Kyser Musical Products (Artist Support Program), Warm Audio, and Blackstar Amps.
